New Year Greetings from Department of Neurology, Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, Pondicherry.

It is indeed a great honour to invite you to this tiny cosmopolitan town of Pondicherry, famous for its distinct French flavour, beauty and variety. Besides being blessed with serene sun soaked beaches of the Bay of Bengal, Pondicherry, ‘The city of Dawn’ is also home to Aurobindo Ashram and Auroville; Tamil spiritual leaders and the famous poet, Subrahmanya Bharathi. We hope that the elegance of French architecture and the spiritual atmosphere of Pondicherry would touch the heart of visitors to Pondicherry.

TROPICON 2010, Midterm national conference of the Tropical Neurology is being jointly organised by the Tropical Neurology subsection of the Indian Academy of Neurology, Dept. of Neurology, JIPMER and Pondicherry Association of Neuroscientists (PANSS) on 27th and 28th March 2010, at JIPMER, Pondicherry.

At a time when environmental issues are assuming global importance, it is perhaps appropriate that the theme of the conference is “Tropical Neurology in India- environment is the key”. This conference thus includes chosen Tropical Neurology topics specifically relevant to India and deals with day to day problems and their management. It provides a good platform for physicians and neurologists to interact with top faculties of national and international repute who have done pioneering works in their fields. The timing of the conference is well before the summer temperature soars up. Kindly keep these dates reserved in your calendar and we would eagerly await your active participation in this conference.

Yours sincerely

Dr. Sunil Narayan,
Organising Secretary, TROPICON 2010,
Head of the Department of Neurology
JIPMER, Pondicherry.
